Obituary

Rosalie Ann Gonzales, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born May 11, 1939 in Fullerton, California to David and Margaret (Hernandez) Hayes. She passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at her home near Duncan with family at her side. She was 83.

A memorial service in California will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Rosalie loved her family! She coached her daughter's softball games when she was younger. She loved making puzzles, playing cards with her family, working her Sudoku books, and coloring. She played the piano and loved any kind of music. She loved to cook and made the best burritos, chili con carne, and chorizo. She also enjoyed going out to eat. When she was a "demo" lady at Sam's Club, her job there fulfilled her love to cook and eat. She could dance very well; but she wouldn't pick up her feet to walk so she left train tracks and a shuffle. She loved the water and always said her body floated like a cork and couldn't sink. She liked to go camping, especially at the Newport Dunes.

When her children were grown, she went back to work. She delivered the Penny Saver Magazine. Her family would go with her and the grandchildren were put them in and then take everyone out to eat with the money she made. In addition to being the "demo" lady at Sam's Club, she worked at Toy City (spoiling the grandchildren).

Rosalie believed God was always with her. She attended The Christian Center in Duncan. She also loved going to the Senior Citizens Center. She was loving and funny. She really loved her family, but she missed her husband - and now she's with the love of her life, John Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Margaret Hayes; husband, John Gonzales; sons: John Gonzales and Kenneth Gonzales; and sister, Elenar Ramirez.

Rosalie is survived by her children: Eileen and husband James Tartaglio, Stephen and Laura Gonzales, JoAnn and husband Derek Gutierrez; daughter-in-law, Mary Gonzales; grandchildren: Stephanie and Mark Regimbal, Jason and Maria Tartaglio, Brigette and Cesar Garcia, Jonathan and Jennifer Tartaglio, Melanie and Thomas Land, Stephen Gonzales; Camryn and Elizabeth Gonzales, Amber and Ricky, Blake Gutierrez, Corbin Gutierrez; great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Ellie, Ava Belle, Miranda, Allissa, Emma, Jason, Kylie, Caylin, Camryn, Jayden, Joleen, Cambria, Beau; and great-great grandchild, Boomer. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Steve and Rosie Hernandez, Albert and Lucy Hernandez, Angie and Ben Llamas, Ray Ramirez, Ester and Bob Pinedo, Sally and Benny Ramirez, Katie and Bob Barraza, Vicky and Gil Ortiz.
