Roy Del Castleberry, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 18, 2025. He was born on August 31, 1947, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Leroy and Audra (Welch) Castleberry.
The family will receive visitors at Whitt Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, from 1:00-4:00 P.M. A funeral service is planned for Monday, December 22, at 2:00 P.M., at Whitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating.
Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later dedicated his career to working as a truck driver. Outside of work, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working with leather, crafting wallets and sheaths.
Above all, Roy was a devoted husband and father who deeply loved his family. He was a father figure not only to his own children but to many in the community, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Ann, Roy is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda; sons: Christopher Del Castleberry and wife Kayla, Ethan Cord Castleberry, Jimmy Thompson; sister, Becky Mae Hatton; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Baird; brother-in-law, Carl McQuilliams; nieces, Vicki Dulaney, Leedale and husband Jody Rich, Kandra Boteler, Sheila Inmon; and nephews: Lynn Bailey, Raymond and wife Gayla Franklin, Dewayne Franklin, Crusty Harkins. He is also survived by numerous other extended children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who he considered his own. He will be fondly remembered by all of his close friends.
