Roy Allen George, of Duncan, passed away on Thursday, April 5, in Oklahoma City at the age of 59. He was born on September 18, 1958, in Duncan to William Quay and Mary E. (Punneo) George.
Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, April 9, at 2:00 P.M. at Rock Creek Cemetery with Melvin Anderson officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Roy graduated from Duncan High School in 1976. He married Barbara Marie Mullendore in 1976. They later divorced and she preceded him in death in 2009. He was a carpenter by trade and built cabinets for all of the new home contractors in all Southwest Oklahoma. He began his carpentry career at the young age of 14 and it spanned 45 years.
He loved fishing and collecting Case knives, guns, and coins. He enjoyed watching and admired Michael Jordan.
Roy is survived by his sons, Joe and wife Krystal George of Sapulpa, and Darell George of Lawton; grandchildren, Cody Allen George, Shalynn Dawn Harvey, and LeAnn Marie George; father, William Quay George; sisters, Robin and husband Oscar Smith and Debbie and husband Phillip Aragon, all of Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary George; and his grandparents, Jesse and Gertrude George and Gladness and Matilda Punneo.
