Ruth Adean Thomas, 94, went to her heavenly home on November 21, 2022. She is affectionately remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend by those blessed to have known her.
Ruth was born April 13, 1928 in Loco, Oklahoma, to Robert Jefferson and Bessie Mary (Smith) Graves. She attended Martha High School and later married Bill Alfred Thomas on December 27, 1945. Ruth was the proud mother of three children, Brenda, Danny and Paula, whom she dearly loved. Ruth and Bill’s marriage lasted 75 devoted years and resulted in 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Ruth's long-time career as a homemaker also included a career as a Photo Lab Specialist beginning with Little’s Printing and Stationery, moving on to PRN print shop, and retiring from Halliburton’s department of Graphic Design.
Ruth was an avid fisherman - many times reeling in more fish than her husband, Bill. They were “Winter Texans” and regularly vacationed at Lake Fork and Aransas Pass, where they’d fish for Sheepshead. In addition to fishing, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, bird watching, jigsaw puzzles, and loving on her precious dogs. Ruth and Bill loved to volunteer at her church, Impact580 and spend time with her grandchildren, great-children and great-great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children: Danny and wife Joyce Thomas of Marlow, and Paula and husband Rick Marshall of Edmond; grandchildren: Tamra and husband Dr. Jody Atchley, Jana Ford, Dr. Jeffrey and wife Jennifer Edwards, Rodney and wife Kathi Thomas, Christie and husband Darryl Amundson, Amanda and husband Matthew Parcher, Jason and wife Cheree Orr, Ashlee and husband Kyle Sanders, and Mackenzie and husband Sean Chitwood; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; parents, Robert Jefferson and Bessie Mary Graves; daughter, Brenda Edwards, survived by Tommy Edwards; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
