Sheila Inez Tyner

Sheila Inez Tyner was born June 27, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lewis Baker and Margaret Marie (Humphrey) Hunt. She passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 65.

The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, September 6, between 5pm-7pm at Whitt Funeral Home. Services are planned for Thursday, September 7, at 11:00 am at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Boyd officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be John Drew, John Blunt, Travis Talton, Kevin Bowens, Ron Fritzgerald, and Tyler Wilkins. Interment will follow at the Henderson-Harris Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Sheila graduated from McClain HS with the class of 1976. She continued her studies at TCC in Managerial Accounting. She worked tirelessly at her favorite place, Wilkins Nursing Center, for 25 years as a Lead Dietary cook. She loved everyone and made everyone feel special. Yearly, Sheila played Santa Claus and sent gifts around the world. She sent Christmas, birthday, back-to-school, and "just cuz u my niece" bags filled with treasures inspired by love. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She married Ronnie Darnell Tyner in Duncan on June 8, 1985; their family union was completed with the birth of their son, Ronnie Lewis Tyner. They were married for 37 years.

Sheila is survived by her son, Ronnie; sister, Carol; brother, Lewis; nieces: Annesha and Tenesha; great nephews: Matthew and Malachi; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie, and sister, Pamela Hunt.
