Stephen Wayne Chennault was born August 8, 1951 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Nallen Wayne and Marilyn Lucile (Miller) Chennault. He passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2020. He was 69.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 8, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. at True Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. William Monden officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Stephen graduated from Guthrie High School. During his working career, he held several jobs. He was a waste water operator at the City of Guthrie Water Plant. He loaded trucks when he worked for Cain's Coffee and was also a custodian for Midco. He was very creative, making antennas and used car batteries as a source of electricity. He loved C.B. radios. He was a preacher's kid and loved it. He attended church at United Pentecostal Church of Guthrie where his father was the preacher. Stephen was a prankster. He loved his family dearly, but he was always pulling pranks on them. He was silly and funny and kept his family laughing. Stephen was a wonderful dad to his children and will definitely be missed but never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Chris Benton.
Stephen is survived by his children: Rebecca Benton of Duncan; Shelly Chennault of Duncan; Nate Chennault of Duncan; James Chennault of Guthrie; Joel Chennault and wife Jenny of Guthrie; Angela Johnston of Duncan; grandchildren: Andrew Benton and wife Cierra; Anna Benton; Matthew Spencer; Breanna Spencer; Nicole Spencer, all of Duncan; great grandchildren, Grayson Benton, Alexzander Spencer, Emalee Spencer, Addison Spencer, Linley Shahan, Cole Bryant; brother, Jon Chennault and wife Christy of Guthrie; and sister, JoAnna Segura of Fort Worth, Texas.
