Tammy Lynn DeYong Obituary

Tammy Lynn DeYong, 64, of Duncan, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply. She was born February 21, 1962, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Chester and Nellie May (Baker) McElhaney.

Tammy grew up with a warm heart and a deep faith that guided her throughout her life. She graduated from Comanche High School and later dedicated more than 17 years of service to Halliburton.

She found joy in the simple beauty of the world-planting and admiring flowers, visiting mountains and parks, and capturing those moments through her camera lens. Her "best dog girlfriend", Gracie, was never far from her side. Tammy also possessed a beautiful singing voice, one that reflected the sincerity of her heart.

Her greatest loves were her Savior and her family. Her faith never wavered, and she lived it daily. Whenever her children sought her guidance, she would lovingly ask, "Have you prayed about it," a reminder of the foundation she built her life upon. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose smile could brighten any room. She and her daughter Emile shared a special phrase- "I love you BIG"-a testament to the depth of her affection.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gary McElhaney and Joe McElhaney; and her sister, Ruth McElhaney.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Randy DeYong; her children, Amy DeYong, Brian DeYong, Preston DeYong, Matthew Whittington, and Emile Raney and husband Brian; her grandchildren: Kendra, Samantha, and Jacob; and her great-grandchildren: Isabella, Isaac, Sofia, and Amelia. She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry and Rick; and her sisters: Carol Sue, Shirley, Letha, Margaret, Judy, and Vicki.

The family will receive visitors at Whitt Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 3, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 4, at Bethel Assembly of God with Ron Meador officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery.
