Terry Shoemaker Obituary
Terry Lee Shoemaker, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born April 17, 1956, in Rochester, New York, to Robert and Elene Pearline (Kiesinger) Shoemaker-Vrooman. He passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 70.
On December 11, 1982, Terry married Karen Jo Blue. Together, they raised their three children, Tom, Chris, and Debby, and shared more than 43 years of marriage.
Throughout his career, Terry worked as a machinist for several companies. He ended his career working at Walmart. A talented handyman, he could fix just about anything. He enjoyed working on the house, tinkering with cars and computers, playing pool, and spending time at the lake with his children.
Terry also loved to sing and shared his voice at many weddings over the years. One of his most treasured musical moments, however, was on his own wedding day, when he serenaded Karen with "I've Waited a Lifetime." It was a special expression of his love for her and a memory that remained meaningful throughout their life together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Shoemaker; and father- and mother-in-law, Veral and Margie Blue.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; children: Tom Shoemaker and wife Sam, Chris Shoemaker, and Debby Smith and husband Derrick; grandchildren: Austin Shoemaker, Blyden Shoemaker, Aleighya Shoemaker, JoJo Shoemaker, and Daisy Smith; brother, Michael Shoemaker; sisters: Deborah Kuhn and Connie Brinkman; and many nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
