Troy Vernon Boice

Troy Vernon Boice was born on July 12, 1937, in County Line, Oklahoma to Baylus Eugene and Malverta (Swanson) Boice. He completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

A Rosary service led by Pat Neal and Anna Fitts is planned for 6:00 P.M., Friday, March 15, at Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with family visitation immediately following. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 16, at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Peter Jandaczek, Father Jarek Topolewski, and Father Joseph David officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center. Honorary pallbearers are all his grandsons, Curt Merrill, Phil McNair, Pete Hogstead, Lynn Davenport, Dwight Duncan, Dick Fennel, Kenneth Johnson, and Lane Mullen.

Troy graduated from Duncan High School with the class of 1956. He married Ann Mullen on February 14, 1977, in Duncan and raised 7 children together. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.

Throughout his life, Troy owned and operated Troy's Upholstery and one of his most favorite things to do was work, as he was still working at 86 years old...because "work is what makes it all possible." In his free time, he enjoyed watching television, keeping up with the stock market, and doing things for others. Troy really enjoyed going to Carl's Jr every morning to drink coffee with his buddies. He also loved going to The Senior Citizens Center for lunch every day with his friends. Troy was a dedicated member of the High Lifters Club since high school. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Papaw.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Ray Boice; and sisters: Betty Jean Simpson, Mary Elizabeth Boice, and Nevada Lee Mann.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ann; children: Kelly Boice and wife Robin of Duncan, Nancy Hause and husband Caleb of Crestview, FL, Lynn Allen and husband Tim of Caddo Mills, TX, Kris Boice of Comanche, Judy Robinson and husband Tom of Duncan, Cindy Merrill and husband Carl of Duncan, Gina Scifres and husband James of Chickasha, OK; 17 grandchildren: Kelsey Lewis, Kaylee Watson, Bill Hause, Tracy Harrison, Lindsey Allen, Kira Lowe, Amber Benson, Jeffrey Robinson, Ryan Robinson, Natalie Pinard, Brooke Bonham, Bailee Mulkey, Cody Merrill, Katie Sue Scifres, AJ Scifres, Brandon Carletti-Silva, and Bradley Carletti-Silva; 21 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Leo Gamblin Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Troy's name to the Assumption Catholic Church Building Fund or Food Bank.
