Vera “Maggie” Florene Breashears was born October 18, 1926, in Comanche, Oklahoma to Roy Lynn and Margaret Arrena (Pannell) Shaddock. She passed away on Saturday, May 16, in Oklahoma City at the age of 93.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, May 19, from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Maggie graduated from Comanche High School. She was married to James C. Breashears. Born to this union was one daughter, Laurie. James preceded her in death in 1999.
She was employed as an Accounts Payable Clerk for Halliburton for 38 years, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and raising a vegetable garden. She also played the piano and liked to dance. She also enjoyed visiting with all of her neighbors.
Maggie is survived by her daughter, Laurie and husband Bruce Wolcott of Norman; grandchildren: Sarah and husband Randy Miller of Blanchard, Shane and wife Beth Smith of Yukon, Trevor Wolcott of Kent, Washington, Brian and wife Titi Wolcott of Bali; great grandchildren: Payton Miller, Makenzie Miller, Preston Smith, Penelope Smith; and nephew, Kevin and wife Karen Boatman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Roy and Margaret Shaddock; brothers: Johnny Shaddock, J.R. Shaddock, Glen Shaddock; and sister, Juanita Jackson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Smith, Bruce Wolcott, Randy Miller, Payton Miller, Donald Jackson, and Kevin Boatman.
