Virginia Lewis Obituary
Virginia Nell Lewis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 97. A family visitation is planned for Sunday, June 28, at Whitt Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Services will be held on Monday, June 29, at 10:00 A.M., in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Pain officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Ty Padgett, Andrew Goodman, Steven Price, Jerrin Price, Graham Padgett, and Mark Brim serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew LeBlanc and Paul Wentzler.
Virginia was born June 17, 1929, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Her parents were Garold and Blanche (Flowers) Earnhart. She grew up in Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School in 1947. She then graduated from Oklahoma A&M (OSU) where she earned a degree in Home Economics Education. During her sophomore year, she was selected as the outstanding Home Economics Student. Virginia was also elected to Mortar Board Honorary Society and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Virginia married Bill Lewis on June 1, 1950, in Duncan. They celebrated their 75th anniversary on June 1, 2025. Virginia was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church, where she taught a ladies' Sunday School class for more than 30 years. She was also actively involved in the Women on Mission ministry and enjoyed participating in the Owl Study Club, of which she was a longtime member.
Virginia devoted much of her life to caring for her home and family. She especially enjoyed bringing loved ones together for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. Creating a warm and welcoming home and providing for her family brought her great joy and fulfillment. She was a lifelong Oklahoma State fan and enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder games.
Virginia and Bill had three daughters, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Lisa Padgett and husband Wes and Sharon Hyde all of Duncan; and grandchildren: Caroline Wentzler and husband Paul of Houston, Texas, Kyna Price and husband Steven of Prosper, Texas, Ty Padgett and wife Jessica of Comanche, Oklahoma, Lauren LeBlanc and husband Matthew of Missouri City, Texas, and Andrew Goodman and wife Ashley of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Katelyn and Melanie Wentzler, Jerrin Price, Crosbee, Graham, and Merrek Padgett, and Haley and Hannah LeBlanc.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents, Garold and Blanche Earnhart; and daughter, Sue Ann Smith.
