William "Bill" Harold Presswood was born October 17, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to William Floyd and Alice Coleen (Rednour) Presswood. He passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at his home in Duncan with his family at his side. He was 73.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Reynolds officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Bill graduated from Pinckneyville, Illinois High School. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force in 1967-68. He loved to drive and followed that love into his job as a long-haul truck driver. He became Mapquest and Google Maps before the applications were even invented. He enjoyed reading western books and watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Bill enjoyed hanging out with his friends and loved his family life. When a party was happening, he was always the loudest! Traveling, fishing and watching the weather were favorite pastimes. He enjoyed chasing his grandkids and playing with his granddog, Chubbs. He was a big fan of John Wayne (the actor) and Jon Wayne (his grandson).
Preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Alice Presswood, brother, Davy Presswood and two sister-in-laws, Cathy Presswood and Nancy Presswood. Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce; children: Larry Presswood of Duncan, Kristie and spouse Jason Reynolds of Moore; grandchildren: Lauren "Rennie" and spouse Jon Wayne Townsend, Lane Presswood and Esty Alford, Kylie Reynolds; and his great granddog, Chubbs. He is also survived by his sister, Judi and spouse Steve Lutes of Du Quoin, Illinois; one sister-in-law Renee Presswood of Sacramento California, seven brothers: Bob and spouse Joyce Presswood of Coulterville, Illinois, Jim and spouse Bev Presswood of Missouri, Tom Presswood of Pinckneyville, Illinois, Don and spouse Mona Presswood of Comanche, John Lee Presswood of Steeleville, Illinois, Danny Joe and spouse Anne Presswood of Clyde, Michigan, Mike and spouse Susan Presswood of Lonedell, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
